EO Group, the UK reseller and technology platform, has announced the acquisition of leading UK dealer Eurostat Office Solutions as part of a brand new company overhaul.
Led by CEO Stefan Mercado, independent office supplies company Eurostat has gradually grown to employ 60 people in offices situated in London, Brighton, Bristol and Sheffield. Founded originally in 1991, the announcement of their brand new acquisition by EO Group also comes on the heels of Mercado’s desire to step back from the company and retire after almost 30 years in charge.
A Strong Strategic Fit
Simon Drakeford, CEO of EO Group, the business which parents companies Euroffice and Office Power, sees the new acquisition as a perfect strategic fit for the business following Mercado’s exit. “The business case for Eurostat joining Office Power was so strong that when Stefan expressed a desire to exit the business, the obvious course of action was for us to acquire it” He continued “The strategic fit is perfect and the benefit will be felt across all parts of our business; which further validates our technology and the success our platform has in organizing dealer networks.”
In Good Hands
Following his decision to retire and take a back seat from the leadership at Eurostat, Mercado reflected on his decision to pass the company into the hands of EO Group. “I was originally very attracted to the concept of Office Power but felt that after 27 years of successfully building the business it was time to step down completely and hand over to a new team that would inject the modern tech, vitality and strategic direction that Eurostat now needs”. Optimistic about how Eurostat can evolve moving forwards, Mercado added “I believe I have found the ideal partner to do that – both for my customers and all my colleagues at Eurostat – and I will be enthusiastically cheering them on with excitement and a proud heart from the sidelines now as they move forward, prosper and grow within the EO Group”.
