Staples Solutions to Sell International Business Units to Lyreco

Via a press release launched late last week, Staples Solutions have signed an agreement with Lyreco to sell its international business units.

The units which are situated in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Poland, and Austria, will become under the property of leading office products distributor Lyreco, subject to the completion of regulatory proceedings and employee consultation matters.

Additionally, their centralized support services located in Poland and The Netherlands which includes IT, merchandising, eCommerce, Finance and Supply Chain Planning operations, will also become the new ownership of Lyreco as part of the agreement.

Speaking more on the finalized terms of the agreement, Chief Executive Officer of Staples Solutions, Dolph Westerbos, commented on how the transaction has come at a natural point for the company.

Staples Solutions has been on a remarkable journey after separating from its US parent more than four years ago.

We put the customer at the core of our decision making, we broadened our workplace solutions, we localized and simplified our operations; returning to profitability at the end of last year.”

He continues:
